SOUND FAMILIAR?

You didn't mean to open Instagram. You just did.

You know the feeling. A moment of boredom, a reflex, and suddenly 20 minutes are gone. You're not lazy or weak — you're up against an app designed by the best engineers in the world to keep you scrolling.

The reflex

You open the app before you've even decided to. It happens before thought.

The lost time

15 minutes becomes 45 (sometimes 2 hrs). You close the app feeling worse than before you opened it.

The guilt

You know there's more meaningful ways to spend that moment. You just never had a bridge.

Gita Guide is that bridge, intercepting that moment — not to block you, but to give you one breath of wisdom & intention before you scroll. Based on the Bhagavad Gita. Free to start.

YOUR PRIVACY

We only know one thing: an app was intercepted.

Gita Guide uses Android's Accessibility Service for a single purpose: to know when you open a blocked app. That's it. We never see what you do inside those apps, never read your messages, never access your photos, never track your location.

We collect only anonymous emotion selections and streak data — no names, no device IDs, no app identifiers. Your blocked app list never leaves your phone.

What we access vs. What we don't

We access
  • App interception event
  • Emotion selections (anonymous)
We never access
  • Your messages
  • Your photos or files
  • Activity inside apps
  • Your location
  • Your identity

Gita Guide is open about how it works. Read our full Privacy Policy.

The Bhagavad Gita is a 700-shloka verse Sanskrit scripture, part of the Indian epic Mahabharata, written roughly 5,000 years ago. It's a conversation between the warrior Arjuna and Krishna on the nature of duty, emotion, and the mind. Its teachings on handling anxiety, anger, restlessness, and purpose are remarkably precise — and remarkably modern.

No account is required to use Gita Guide. Download the app, choose your apps, and you're set. Your streak and data are stored locally on your device.

The app is mostly in English. Verses are displayed in both Devanagari script (Sanskrit) and English translation, so you get the original text alongside its meaning. More languages coming soon.

Most screen time apps block or restrict access to apps — they rely on willpower and hard limits. Gita Guide doesn't block anything. Instead, it intercepts the moment before you scroll and offers a Bhagavad Gita shloka verse matched to your current emotional state. It works with your psychology rather than against it — replacing a mindless reflex with a moment of intention, not guilt.
